Deneatrice Harrison (School Counselor and Educator)


Deneatrice Harrison is a native of Bay Springs, MS who started her teaching career In 1997 with Jackson Public Schools in Jackson, MS. Deneatrice taught at-risk high school students who were experiencing behavioral and academic struggles. In 2000, she joined Fulton County Schools, Atlanta, GA as an elementary teacher and is currently employed as an elementary school counselor.

Deneatrice's commitment to educating children and supporting parents and colleagues has yielded various recognition, including serving as FCS "Teacher of the Year" for two years, MLK Community Service Award in Jackson, MS, and Career Academic Placement "Teacher of the Year" in Jackson, MS.

Deneatrice possesses a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Alcorn State University, a master's degree in elementary education from Jackson State University, a master's degree in school counseling from the University of West Alabama, and an educational specialist degree in school administration from NOVA Southeastern University.


Deneatrice continues her quest in education as she strongly stands on the principals of Mahatma Ghandi...."Be the Change you Wish to See in the World".
